Every photo calorie app gives you a number. The number is a guess. Most apps show it as a fact. Heiki shows the guess as a guess, says what it depends on, and lets you sharpen it with a tap.
The estimate arrives with its range. 560 to 710 and how sure it is, not a false decimal.
It asks the one thing that moves the number most. Was that whole milk? Any refills? Oil in the pan?
The range pulls in. Then it stops asking. A third question worth fifteen calories is an interrogation.
One sentence about a photographed meal roughly halves the error in published testing: about 14% with a sentence, about 30% without. Better than a dietitian working from the same photo. Nobody in this category can honestly claim single digits, and we won’t.
